Here's why we recommend Courchevel as a family destination.

Travelling anywhere with children can be challenging, and in a ski resort it can be doubly so with things like lift passes, equipment hire and ski lessons to arrange (never mind hats, gloves, snotty noses and the rest...!). Courchevel is a family-friendly resort that makes all these things as easy as possible.

Worth knowing

Couchevel's reputation as one of the world's top family ski resorts is well deserved. There really is no better resort for a family ski holiday, so come visit us and see for yourselves.

Why Courchevel is great for families in 2018/19

Top 10 reasons to visit Courchevel as a family

1. The ‘Famille Plus’ scheme
The resort has worked hard to become a part of this officially recognised scheme, bestowed only on those resorts and destinations that go out of their way to cater to families and children. They provide activities, services, entertainment and prices throughout resort favourable to those holidaying with kids in tow.

2. Ski area & lift passes
Courchevel has some of the best long, cruisy green and blue runs that are excellent for young children to find their ski legs and are also enjoyable for adults to ski too. Plus Courchevel offers favourable lift pass prices to families, making valuable savings.

3. Great ski schools
The tuition available in Courchevel is truly brilliant. You'll find ski schools offer lessons for little ones, integrated with games to keep things fun whilst they learn.

4. Short transfer times
When travelling with children, short transfers to resort are a must and Courchevel has good transport links to the main airports. Geneva is only just over an hour away from the resort.

5. Easy to get around resort
Courchevel operates a great free bus service every day throughout the winter season that connects all the villages. A bus service operates around resort from 07:00 right through until 02:00, running every 30 minutes.

6. Child-friendly accommodation
The choice of hotels and rental accommodation in Courchevel is vast. From five-star luxury with every service and facility considered, to a self-catered home from home, Courchevel offers top quality accommodation with services for families.

7. Leisure facilities
On the days you don't want to ski, head to the leisure centre where you can spend some time at the ice rink, gym, or relaxing in the sauna and hammam. Also kids will love the Aquamotion Aquatic Centre, one of the best alpine water centres in the world. There is a dedicated children’s area and water slides to keep kids (and adults) entertained. Indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools and jacuzzis will help to relax aching muscles, and swimming outside whilst it's snowing is something pretty special to experience.

8. Fun on the hill
The Family Park in Courchevel 1850 has freestyle boxes and jumps to play on, big air bags and a boardercross track. The Western Ski Park has a gentle slope and some American Indian tipis serving hot chocolate. You can rent sledges for the luge track at the top of Tovets chairlift or from Courchevel Village, and as long as you have a lift pass you simply take your sledge on the gondola and race down the track multiple times with your children. You can also do night time descents on certain evenings too.

9. Family-friendly restaurants
Many restaurants around resort are child-friendly and have a children’s menu, high chairs for your convenience, and families are always made welcome.

10. Family activities
Courchevel prides itself on offering families a whole host of activities away from the slopes. If you have a free evening and you’re looking for something to entertain the children, then Le Forum in Courchevel 1850 is a great place to visit for family friendly activities. There is an arcade, a bowling alley, an indoor climbing wall and an ice rink. La Tania in particular provides games, activities and different events specifically for children.
